The “Moldova” variety of grapes is a late-ripening table grape that was developed at the Moldovan Institute of Scientific Research in the Field of Viticulture and Vinification. Created through a crossbreeding of the Guzali kara and Seyv-Villard 12-375 varieties, it was officially registered for production in 1980. Today, Moldova is the most widely cultivated late-ripening table grape variety in the Republic of Moldova.

Moldova grapes ripen late, typically reaching maturity by the end of September. This variety produces clusters that are cylindrical or conical in shape and weigh approximately 385 g, with the potential to reach up to 1 kg. The berries of Moldova grapes are large, oval, and display a stunning blue-violet color, featuring a thick yet tender skin. The pulp is firm, colorless, and contains seeds.

Farmers primarily grow Moldova grapes for fresh consumption due to their inherent sweetness. These grapes are also visually appealing. The Moldova variety demonstrates remarkable resilience, as it resists diseases, frost, drought, and phylloxera. It can withstand cold conditions and remain viable until January or February, showcasing its high adaptability and durability.

We highly regard the ability of Moldova grapes to withstand transport and storage during winter. Additionally, their large and beautiful clusters make them highly productive and suitable for long-term storage throughout the winter season.

Our grape suppliers actively obtained Global GAP certification for this variety, demonstrating their commitment to adhering to internationally recognized agricultural practices. This certification guarantees that they maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability for our grapes.
